INDIVIDUAL COUNSELING IN KANSAS CITY
You can’t quite put your finger on it, but something feels off…
Maybe you feel disconnected from yourself. Maybe your relationships feel strained.
You might look “fine” to everyone else while privately feeling overwhelmed, stuck, reactive, anxious, lonely, or emotionally numb.
At some point, many people realize they don’t just want symptom relief — they want a better relationship with themselves, with others, and with the world around them.
And if you’re anything like me, you’ve tried doing it on your own, but you’re not where you want to be. I get it. I’ve been there. You’re not doomed. You just need a bit of help.
Therapy is collaborative, honest, and practical.
This is not a space where you simply vent every week without direction. It is a space to slow down, understand yourself more deeply, and begin making meaningful changes in how you relate — both internally and externally.
In sessions, we may explore:
Repeating relational patterns
Anxiety, shame, or emotional overwhelm
Self-criticism and inner conflict
Boundaries and communication
Disconnection in relationships
Life transitions and identity questions
The gap between the life you want and the life you are currently living
The goal is not perfection. The goal is helping you become more aware, flexible, connected, and emotionally honest.
Therapy here is designed to help you understand the patterns underneath your struggles.
My approach integrates:
Relational Life Therapy (RLT) — helping you identify unhealthy relational patterns, build accountability, and create more authentic connection
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) — helping you stop fighting your internal experience so you can live more fully and intentionally
Internal Family Systems (IFS) — helping you understand the different “parts” of yourself with greater compassion and clarity
Together, these approaches help you move toward a life that feels more grounded, connected, and aligned with who you want to be.
Session Details:

Therapy available in-person and virtually for Kansas residents
Private pay, I don’t work directly with insurance, but I can give you a superbill
Virtual “coaching” is available for those outside of Kansas, at the same rates as above
The main difference between coaching and therapy is that coaching is short-term, does not include a mental health diagnosis or treatment, and isn’t reimbursable by insurance or an HSA.
If you’re ready to build a healthier relationship with yourself, others, and the world around you, therapy can help you begin that process.
Change rarely happens through force or self-criticism. It happens through awareness, courage, practice, and support.
A different relationship with yourself is possible.
Not a perfect one. A real one — grounded, honest, and more like the life you actually want.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I have to live in Kansas to work with you? Therapy (licensed) is available to Kansas residents only, in-person or virtually. Virtual coaching is available to anyone, regardless of location.
How do I know if I'm ready for therapy? If you're reading this page and something is clicking, that's usually a sign. You don't have to be in crisis to benefit from therapy — most people start when they're tired of the same patterns and ready to try something different.
What if I've tried therapy before and it didn't help? That's more common than you'd think. The fit between therapist and client matters enormously, and so does the approach. If past therapy felt like venting without direction, this is designed to be different.
How long does therapy typically last? It depends on what you're working on. Some people come for a focused period of several months; others work with me longer-term. We'll talk about goals and pacing as we go — nothing is locked in.
What happens in a first session? We slow down, get acquainted, and start to understand what brought you in. You don't have to have it all figured out before you arrive.
