Do Something Nice
This is our final email on this month’s topic of Relational Generosity.
Admittedly, I can get a bit long-winded in these emails at times. So, I thought I would finish off this theme with a simple reminder …
Do something nice for your spouse or partner today.
Sure, you don’t have to. It could wait. You could wait until they take responsibility for that thing they did several days ago that has you feeling put out. Or …
You could do something nice today.
Remember, relational generosity is about showing the kind of love you want to receive. It’s about being active, engaged, and nourishing your relationship — even when some part of you is feeling hurt or resentful.
That’s the trick about being a mature person. You can feel off and still choose to act generously. That doesn’t mean you ignore what’s difficult. It just means you keep your love online and act like a grown-up.
So, with that in mind…
What is something nice you could do for your spouse or partner today? 🙂
Here’s to practicing Relational Generosity.
Happy to be in your corner,
Tom Page, LCPC
