End-of-Year Review Template
There are only two days left in 2025—crazy, right? Each year seems to fly by faster than the last. It’s easy to slip into the next year without missing a beat, but I encourage you to pause and reflect. Taking a moment to honor this past year lets you savor it, learn from it, and set yourself up for a 2026 that’s aligned with your values.
To help, I’ve put together a simple End-of-Year Review Template. I’m a bit skeptical of AI, but in this case, ChatGPT was helpful—I asked it to distill my own year-end journaling practice into easy prompts you can follow as a guide. I invite you to join me in taking some time to reflect on this last year. Check out the prompts below.
1. Year in Review — Big Picture
What are three things you’re most proud of this year?
What felt most alive or fulfilling?
What do you wish you had done more—or less—of?
What patterns, surprises, or lessons stand out?
If your year had a “title” or “theme,” what would it be?
2. Reconnecting with Values
Values Check-In:
Which values were most important this year?
Which did you honor consistently? Which did you neglect?
Energy Audit:
Where did your energy go, and what did it yield?
Which activities or relationships energized you? Which drained you?
Are you investing energy where it matters most?
Alignment & Change:
How has your sense of purpose evolved?
What do you want to carry forward or release next year?
What small change could better align your life with your values?
Optional Closing Prompts:
What would you tell your January 1st, 2025, self?
What word, intention, or image will guide your next year?
May 2026 be an excellent year for you!
Happy to be in your corner,
Tom Page, LCPC
