Remember What You Wanted

We’re a little over halfway through the year—can you believe it? We’re now closer to 2026 than we are to 2024. Time really does fly.

It’s easy to feel like life is getting away from us, especially when we’re not being intentional. That’s why this is a great moment to pause and reflect:

What were your goals for 2025?

When the year began, what was on your radar? What did you want to focus your time and energy on? Take a moment now to consider whether those goals still matter to you.

For me, I started the year with a theme: Service and Simplicity—and that still feels just as important. It’s easy for me to get swept up in the rat race, to focus on what I wish were different, and in the process, miss out on the contentment available in the present.

By focusing on Service and Simplicity, I’m learning to keep the most important things at the center.

One way my wife and I are living this out is by intentionally slowing down this summer. We’re scheduling less, giving our kids space to just be, and resisting the pressure to stay constantly productive. Slowing down does come with a cost—we’ll likely earn less, finish fewer house projects, and say “no” to some good opportunities. But for us, it’s worth it. We need this time to unwind and live at a more unhurried pace.

What about you? Are there goals or themes from earlier this year that you need to revisit?
This is your chance to pause, reset, and realign.

Remember what you wanted out of this year. If those goals still apply, then make sure you’re finding ways to prioritize them.

Happy to be in your corner,

Tom Page, LCPC
